Because he was a deranged asshole, not some kind of folk hero. He blamed all his problems on other people instead of accepting responsibility. Every grievance he had was a result of his own pride, stupidity, and stubbornness.

Because comments must be posted decrying the killdozer so that other mechanically inclined people don’t accidentally learn that there are actions one can take outside of holding signs in a group.

Not trying to defend the madman, but he killed no one and had a targeted list of people who he felt had wronged him. Your not wrong about the pain part but it wasn’t indiscriminate.
