The director did not make Dune for your TV, they made it for a theater.
- Learn why aspect ratios exist
- Watch TV shows or Made for TV movies if you want content formatted for your TV
- Crop and zoom if you want a sub-par experience if “bigger is better” for you
Next thing you’ll want is 120fps movies. Truly, learn why aspect and FPS is important, and you may appreciate them more.

This is correct. Also, Dune sucked, so that might be why you didn’t like it.

Everyone seems to think that Dune is either a masterpiece or it’s literal trash.
Ps. Anyone that thinks it sucked is subjectively wrong and needs to give part two a chance or read the books to understand how great the story really is.

I read the book in preparation for the movie. I didn’t like it. I was hoping the movie would be an improvement. It was not. That said, I know it’s a classic and I fully support everyone who gets enjoyment out of it. It’s just not for me.
