    Revelation 9:2 And he opened the well of the abyss. And the smoke of the well ascended, like the smoke of a great furnace. And the sun and the air were obscured by the smoke of the well.

    this is a human trying to put into words the abyss, the “smoke” probably doesnt indicate a fire but the gloominess of the abyss being seen and blocking the air and sun

        I didnt “make it up”, I reasoned theologically

        that if hell is without God, then we cannot exist in it, thus hell is the Abyss
