Please give SNW another go. For your own5e enjoyment. It’s really back to the old glory. At least for now. And lower decks was special. A comedy-spin-off I’d call it, but really good too. Just a special taste.

phoenixz@lemmy.ca 10 months agoEverything nu trek since those godawful reboot movies has been utter shit, really.
St Discovery was painfully funny in a really bad way.
St Picard ruined TNG and all its characters for me, great going. Haven’t rewatched TNG ever since
St prodigy cartoon was just painfully bad again
There is more but I stopped watching and I’m not wasting my time on modern trek anymore, it’s dead, please let it rot in peace.

You watched all these 3 but not strange new worlds or lower decks (definitely the best new trek in a decade)?

This! SNW was suprisingly back to the roots. Totally loved it and was prepared for another shitfest. Lower decks is probably not everyone’s taste, but it’s really cool too. Enjoyed much.

Yeah, heard all that a hundred times about the shit movies, about discovery and Picard (but this season, I swear, it’s great!) and none of it had anything to do with star trek, was not made by people who know and love star trek and I’m done with it. Not wasting my time anymore

“removed by mod”? Damn. Now I wanna know :-)

As someone who despised Discovery, and avoided Picard, I’d recommend checking out SNW at a minimum. Lower Decks is also great, but I get it if the jokes and aesthetics don’t appeal to you. SNW ain’t perfect, but it’s well worth watching. Definitely on par with older Trek shows.
I get the burnout and the alienation, I’ve felt the same. But I think you’re doing yourself a disservice by letting Disco and Picard put you off of all the new shows. Anyhow, good luck 🖖!

I saw the trailers of lowerdecks and wisely decided that star trek was dead. That cringy “shields up down” song and the “big guys” chest bumping eachother because that is what real men do… It was so cringy, I’m sorry, that is not star trek
