Comment on What is your favourite gaming console you have played?
Postmortal_Pop@lemmy.world 1 week agoI recently found out that you can soft hack them really easily, literally drag and drop onto a flashdrive and plug it in. If you ever find the time you should definitely try.

My wife still has her 360 too, so we’ve got two at home, just one is put away but I know exactly where it is. Maybe I’ll give it a go one of these days.

Personally it’s been incredibly refreshing to go back and play all the games I couldn’t afford as a teen. There’s something comfortable about an era of self contained games meant for fun instead of profit.

Playing games as an adult that you couldn’t as a kid/teen is one of the great joys of adulthood.
The 360 feels like the last era of games for fun over games for profit, at least to me. It was also the last console generation where you could just insert a disc and play the game, no downloading required. That’s huge, at least to me. I’m totally fine with the smaller game files, that’s a trade off I’m willing to make for the convenience of plug and play (or insert and play, I guess).

Same, and there’s something satisfying to see the files are all less than 10GB. I don’t think I own any games on pc that don’t at least ask for 50GB.
I beat portal 2 for the first time last week and when that song rolled at the end I felt again what it was to truely finish a good game. I’d forgotten that feeling entirely and even teared up.
