HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 weeks agoi mean, i got a recumbent etrike for getting around town. i get my exercises and my funs in at the same time i do my chores.
i’m incredibly fortunate that where i live has extant infrastructure for that. 20 years ago two lycra dudes theirselves elected to city council and county controller, uh, i don’t remember what those boards are called but they got the infrastructure in. also helped a lot with the homeless programs so like, i like these lycra dudes.

Yeah bike infrastructure has got a lot better here too. I live in a small town and don’t even need a car, it’s great.
The homeless programs could really use some more support though. We got plenty of fancy private condos and overpriced rentals going up, so I fear we got the bougie nimby type of lycra dudes
