My boyo introduced me to his favourite book series, which may have backfired for him sometimes when he’s going to sleep and I’m all “wasn’t it cool when that character did that?”, “I can’t believe that character did that!!” or start up with theories of what’s going to happen.

Our conversations aren’t quite at that level yet. I have to be able to infer when one of my kids says, “Why’d he say, ‘ahhh’?” that they’re thinking about the part where the T-1000 kicks the helicopter pilot out whilst the helicopter is still in the air. I need to remember helicopters were mentioned in passing recently and extrapolate from there

Out of nowhere one of them started talking about a part from the movie they hadn’t mentioned before. It’s been alsmost two weeks and it feels like they remember the whole thing
