For the sake of simplicity and to help my understanding say a company sells 100 stocks at $1, people buy and sell them amongst themselves after the full 100 have already been purchased causing the price to increase to $2, the company only ever took in $100 as it was the initial sale even though there is potentially $200 out there?

If that is the case then why do we even talk about “billionaires” based on their company stock prices?
