FireRetardant@lemmy.world 1 week agoI met a girl for a date the other day and her sister was there when i picked her up and the first thing she asked after shaking my hand was “you know any good spots to harvest morels?” Yeah even if i had a good spot in the area, they ain’t getting it that easy.

Did you have a T-shirt on saying you harvest Morels?? I’ve never met anyone asking me anyone remotely similar. I need more context, why would she ask that? Was your date in a forest?

It was the sister asking, they were going morel hunting soon. Originally the date was gonna be in the woods but then we got rained out so i took her to eat instead. I am an outdoors person and have that look to me, but i also have foraging friends that would take a bullet for me before sharing their morel spots.

Dude isn’t it odd? I lived in one place for years and no one veer mentioned them and I moved to another state and people like get together to go hunt for them and stuff. Its wild.
Really cool though.
