“Farther”. May have been a simple typo.
And as a father, I can confidentry say that a paper airplane that’s tightly scrunched into a ball flies the farthest in our household.

Also, non-native needs to know the difference between ‘further’ and ‘farther’ …

Farther for physical distance. Further for metaphorical distance, and (or), to mean “additional” or “moreover”.
