There was a quote I saw recently that said something along the lines of the idea that if your satire becomes indistinguishable from that which you’re satirizing it ceases to be a joke and just becomes more fuel for your target.

That is accurate in most circumstances. Now one ones goal is to cause suffering and social decay, is to blur these lines then the joke is still still going. There are people who want to achieve things, build things and then there are agents of chaos.
