Comment on Is there any such thing as "edutainment" shows for adults?

  I love those shows and they do try to teach a bit about science and sociology but I’m not sure I consider science fiction quite the same as edutainment

      I guess it isn’t so much that Star Trek and the Orville teach facts (boy do the writers misunderstand evolution) as they explore what if questions about society, like what if there was a society where it’s taboo to identify as a gender (TNG episode). It’s more thought provoking than educational
