Why is it in bad faith in this example?
They seem to just be getting lots of conversations going, and god knows Lemmy needs more than just Star Trek memes

One of his questions posted last month (since removed by mods) was"Why do street racers get punished for injuring people? They shouldn’t get punished so harshly, they made a mistake."
That is blatantly ragebait and obviously a bad faith argument, and it makes me skeptical that anything this person submits here is from their own genuine curiosity.

See, that just sounds like playing devil’s advocate to me … do these questions really create rage? Injuries from accidents caused by street racers seems like something that could have caused rage in about 2010, but these days it hardly registers

There’s still people driving recklessly and irresponsibly racing each other on public roads. The question was framed that them getting jail time was unfair. Idk I just feel like going to jail for injuring or killing someone all in the pursuit of getting a cheap thrill is a reasonable punishment. It’s very easy not to street race and put people in danger.
