While I don’t disagree with you, if you didn’t subscribe to the fact that authoritarians have coopted far left movements to consolidate power, it does look like you are doing a false equivalency to make a “both sides” argument. And “both sides” arguments frequently get downvoted.

While yes, there is arguably a “both sides” argument, it has been done without a false equivalency – nowhere did OP claim that the sides were equal.

… The “equivalency”, that is potentially false, is that both parties promote dictators as leaders/heads of state. “False equivalence” is a flexible term and doesn’t just mean “two political parties are equal”.
