schipelblorp@sh.itjust.works 1 week agoAre you counting the Eastern Empire? There’s an argument that our view of “Rome” is obnoxiously Eurocentric. The economic lifeblood of the Empire was mostly outside of Europe, and lots of wheat from Egypt.
