You know a lot. Do you happen to know how they selected who would be forgiven their student loans and who wouldn’t be forgiven?

I’m a military veteran and disabled and they are garnishing all of my disability pay for the next 2 years until my ex-husband’s GI Bill is paid off.

I am severely ill and still have to work, I am stumbling through work and I am extremely sick today and had to take the day off,

again I ask, how does the government decide whose student loan debts are being forgiven, and whose aren’t?

Depends on if you apply for one of the many programs available. If you are 100% disabled per the VA you would qualify for the Total and Permanent Disability Discharge (TPD). Call Nelnet’s TPD department ASAP. Here is their site: https://www.disabilitydischarge.com/
