Nobody bothers to select a Language when submitting content, so undetermined is like a catch all and is the default selected one everywhere.
Afaik Lemmy v1.0.0 will have plugin support and one of the already example plugins is an automatic language detector for content. So maybe someday you might be able to use the language filter and still get the content you like.

In my case, I always do it from the web client but I have no idea how to set the language with Jerboa or Voyager, so my mobile comments don’t have a language set

(sometimes I do go back on the web client to set the language on my posts when I’m back on the web client, though)
