No one is here saying Democrats are great. I am most definitely not saying Democrats are great. I have no love for the doormat party.
Buuuuuut
The reality of the situation we’re in right now, as things are, is that they are, effectively, the only other political party than Republicans. The Green party, libertarians, the communist party, everything else, they don’t have any political power. Right now, you might see some in lower offices if you’re lucky.
You know, because of the whole “winner take all, also that’s how elections work” thing.
And since the Republican party is, quite obviously, doing a fascism…
IF YOU DON’T WANT FASCISTS IN OFFICE YOU HAVE TO VOTE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO CAN WIN AGAINST FASCISTS IN THE ELECTION. (And also do other stuff outside of voting but we’re talking about voting and elections specifically here not community building and other stuff you should also be doing not just voting)
So yeah. The DNC sucks. It’s right wing while pretending to give a shit. It’s still capitalist. It still does war. It’s not what you want and that sucks.
But you’re gonna have to eat that shit sandwich because they are the only people who are running against the overtly fascist party and winning. They know it, you know it, and until there’s a viable third party that starts winning against both of them, until we get national ranked choice voting, until gerrymandering is illegal everywhere, that’s the situation we’re in.
So yeah. We know they suck, don’t care about st Regan, and it’s really shitty to hear, but yeah, if you don’t want more fascists in office, sorry, you gotta vote for the capitalists.
One thing that you can do (outside of Luigitime or everything else outside of voting we’re talking about elections here) is make sure you vote in the primaries. People overlook them and you can try to get the most left person you can on the ballot. Or run yourself for office, maybe you’ll win and be the first third party president ever, idk.
But for fucks sake don’t be part of the 33% of people who didn’t vote.

1st point they’re both fascist parties, since post 9/11 at least. Could be argued happened before but post 9/11 really stopped hiding it.
2nd this is exactly what the meme is going on about. vote for the dnc it’ll totally be different this time. The issue is with our voting system AND the major parties captured so they only act in the interests of the wealthy. This rant just attacks the voters not cause.
But please continue and take frustrations out at those pointing it out while hoping our dear leaders will stop pulling the football away

Ok so what’s your solution with the situation we have right now, in regards to voting?
1- vote Republican, fascists win. 2- vote third party, they lose, either Republicans win or a Democrat might win, though doing that might help Republicans win. 3- don’t vote, and who knows who wins, though not voting trends to help Republicans. 4- vote Democrat, even though they suck, so that Republicans don’t win.

I’d say vote 3rd party but you’re already saying that’s the same as doing nothing. Honestly you did 4 points of nothing changing by voting.
