Being tild you’re a lucky guy to have the girl you’re with is pretty much the height of cishet male-to-male compliments. There’s literally no compliment I would rather receive, and it’s pretty deeply ingrained in our culture.

I personally would be more likely to interpret that as not being told I’m not good enough for her. But that’s just me.
