Sunscreen rant
At this point I have two known ‘tolerable’ sunscreen options at the supermarket and that brand was half price on special today, but I don’t love either. So I didn’t get them. But because every other affordable option was packed with unnecessary bullshit that would make my skin react and they even put niacinimide in all the ‘gentle/basic’ options I previously would have gone to, I decided to try some cheaper Kmart options instead. (OXX face sunscreen, spf face lotion, and pump lotion.) …Within seconds/minutes of patch testing the sunscreens I think I’ve wasted my money. They have a very strong sunscreen smell, kind of faintly stung on application and now the spot where I put the spf moisturiser is sensitised and itching. Sometimes cheap things can be perfectly serviceable and become a mainstay but not here. I’m glad I didn’t go straight to applying these on my face. I’m also dubious about their knockoff of Cerave lotion which doesn’t feel great on the other inner elbow.
For fucks sake. I just want affordable basics that don’t sting.
Usually I respond to this sort of crap by ceasing to use the product at all but sunscreen is necessary for me.

I looked up a survey on choice the other day. I’ll see if I can find it for you.
but basically, so many are crap

Yeah, that’s worrying.
I don’t use a lot but it’s getting so hard to find something that just does the job

maybe one of those medium brim hats from Dangerfield? They are pretty too

I haven’t been to Dangerfield in forever… or clothes shopping in forever. I’ll see if they have anything on clearance
