Comment on Why would anyone doordash food from a place that already does delivery?

Fuck DD as a company, but…
Usually if I use DD it’s via company benefits so I don’t even have to pay for it - that’s one reason.
Some places near me only let you order deliver by phone and I have to call like 10 times to get through because it’s busy.
Some places near me just schluff delivery off to DD anyway, so I might as well use DD to begin with.
As others have said, some places also won’t deliver to me. I’m about 5 minutes outside of city limits so a lot of in-house delivery places refuse to deliver to me even if I offer extra money (I’ve tried). DD doesn’t seem to care about that extra distance.
Related, Dominoes won’t deliver to me, but they will deliver across the street from me to a parking lot if I place a pin. It is more dangerous for their driver to go there and have to take an unprotected left back to the store versus a right from where I live, but 🤷♂️

Doordash support is absolutely the worst. My credit card gives me free credits towards Doordash every month, but for some reason I can’t use it, and calling doordash and speaking with support is a nightmare. I have been given ever excuse possible about what the problem is, without any effort taken to actually address it.
I don’t necessarily blame the support agents, they just don’t seem to have any ability or knowledge to actually look into account level issues, which is a company issue. Trying to debug the issue, you start to notice a lot of other weird things with the app and their processes which seem like things are held together with shoestrings behind the scenes. At this point I have just given up, since I felt like I spent more effort on the phone with their support than the credits are actually worth.
