Comment on The Future is Now!
realitaetsverlust@piefed.zip 1 day agoHighly doubt it. The video looks too gritty to be AI. There’s a lot of janky zooms, camera movements etc, if this was AI, it would be incredibly impressive, and probably kinda scary aswell.

The video I linked I shows the Intree robot running at 10 m/s…that’s a sub 3 minute mile. Anything so janky that there is a stretcher sitting by the starting line is either staged or generated. No company that is serious about the field is going to show themselves as being slthat far behind their competitors.

Who says this company has the same financial resources as that one?
This could also be an old video compared to the one you shared. Also the consistency in the background tells me it’s definitely not AI.

That is so fucking dumb that I can’t even explain it, your comment that is. I felt my own brain cells imploding from just reading it.

What am I missing here?

Are you certain that there is a claim that the company responsible for the tripping robot put this out as a piece of publicity?
Because if not, if it was a leak, or taken by someone not affiliated, then it would make sense it’s on the internet.
Or, are you arguing that because there exists a robot which can run remotely at 10 m s^-1^, that this one shouldn’t exist? Because my car goes 0-60 slower than a McMurtry Speirling, and yet it exists.

Have you even thought about the fact that this is most likely not the company releasing it, but rather a smartphone video made by some random bystander? It could also be a fairly old video of an early prototype - if I remember right, spaceX has once released a video with a bunch of rocket launch fails for the funsies. Or hell, maybe it’s a school project of some engineering students. Nobody really knows the context.
Your claim of that video being AI has nothing to do with the video, but simply “other companies are further than this lol” which is honestly a pretty stupid standpoint. You should analyze the video itself for any hints of being AI generated.
