That’s not going to work. Ireland is also part of the British Isles, and I’m whatever agreement the UK signed with China doesn’t apply to people just because they’re citizens of the Republic of Ireland.
You want to say “it’s a Crown Dependency”.

If I was to make her argument, I’d say British Citizen. But apparently the agreement only applies to “normal” british passports and not to the other 523 variants. They reckon the reason they weren’t lenient is because some Hong Kongers are entitled to a British National Overseas passport, which the Chinese do not recognise
