Oh! Very creative… it always surprises me the kind of stuff people will make into a sim game!

TLDR: It’s gooood! It took some adjusting, ngl. Letting go of the muscle memory of the trad. soulslike formula. But I’m having a good time. Steeper learning curve, but not as hard as it’s reputation makes it out to be.

Tangent

I got sorta stuck in a no combat part of the game, trying to reach a new area, lost patience and got distracted with DS3, (but that save got corrupted over the weekend . RIP ಥ_ಥ) so I’m back to Sekiro

I was scared of it for the longest time but after playing Lies of P I lost my fear of parrying and decided to just go for it. Parrying is the easy part, actually.

What’s challenging is you have to learn how to properly answer the enemy’s moves, and have to be desicive enough to build the stance damage. So, no fucking around, Hesitation IS defeat, yeah… damn right!

It is 100% a rhythm game and the way to approach it is rigid, but it also feels fair and very doable, at least up to this point. I haven’t encountered any fuckery yet. It’s still very early in the game so… Who knows.

Skill wise I’m nothing to write home about, so I feel that if I can do it, probably most can. I do attribute all my soulslike success to me being somewhat rythmically inclined, tho. So experiences may vary…( I also have never measured myself against a ““real”” rhythm game, those seem hard af, my hunch is that I probably woudn’t be that good. )

Game does guilt trip you about dying a lot. XD

Tap for spoiler

But aparently turns out it’s not the end of the world
