There are 20-somethings answering pop music trivia from the 70s and 80s with the utter confidence that indicates intimate personal knowledge. I don’t know how or why, but some of the kids are getting exposed to the classics.

The easy answer for music is these kid’s parents are putting those tunes on their home speakers. While I would agree Haruhi is some form of “classic”, I do wonder what parent is showing it to their kid…

If we had kids, instead of a server full of anime, we would certainly force them to watch Endless 8 during summer vacation, in the same way that my father forced us to spend two weeks camping every summer when I was young. You know, to build character.

Probably not. But it’s close enough to the mark for Dan Da Dan for someone to clock it as a line. And “goofy shit kids say for attention” coded enough that you’d still probably get a laugh.
