orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 hours agoI vaguely remember that being a thing. If I’m not mistaken, it had a smaller playhead inside the loader? Cassette tape was too small for the 8 track play head and would have been chewed up.

Yeah. It was a small cassette player mounted in an 8-track cartridge shape.
