  And or are supplicants of the US. Beholden to the US for security, for their economy. The US undergirds all of their currencies, controls world trade, etc. The sanctions regime is secretive and capricious, and they are not afraid to abuse it. Not even before this administration, and obviously these new guys are unbound by any past restraints. Not just the president, the party, this is the new thing it doesn’t go back to normal with our new supreme leader, presuming the democrats fail to take it back, a safe presumption at this point seeing as the same people are in charge of the party.

      Israel has a very special connection to the Jewish Religion, which makes it different to most other county religion (if we exclude the islamistic ethno states). Israel committing genocide in Gaza is whataboutism here though.

      Statements like “this was Israel all along” and “mossad did this” yield many internet points these days because it feeds peoples world views. Without any explanation why this would indeed be true and any proof, it still feeds conspiracy theories.

      Conspiracy theories are more than often deeply connected to Antisemitism, and this is the case here as well. I know using the forbidden A-word will completely derail this discussion here by enraging the tankie triad and it’s saympathisants. But I don’t mind because I find it dangerous to leave context less comments like yours alone.

        Israel will never be able to separate itself from this genocide. My personal belief is that a separation between church and state prevents these extremist ideologies from becoming dominant. I also would like to mention the worldwide protests against Israel that include Jewish anti-Zionists including in Israel.

        This is my view of Zionism.

        Zionism is a white supremisist ideology that is being used by the settler colonialist state of Israel to justify the mass slaughter of the “genetically” impure. Like other supremisist ideologies Zionism references pseudoscience to claim superiority over others to justify the mass slaughter of people who do not meet their genetic or purity requirements to justify expansion and their own imperial ambitions. Zionism is no more a religion than the settler colonialist ideology that justified the genocide of the Native Americans or the fantastical and pseudoscientific ideology of the Nazis.
