For the record I am neither Chinese nor Asian, but I assume this is just active voice.
This isn’t some novel phenomenon special to Japan. Seasonal local festivals that attract many times the local population happen everywhere. At first there’s trash everywhere and general chaos. Local government and event organizers adapt and improve infrastructure. Or they throw up their hands and say the tourists are impossible to manage. In the modern day, they monitor social media and predict crowd sizes based on impressions and engagement. They respond with increased infrastructure that includes trash and bathrooms. That’s actuarials.

Lmfao do you even hear yourself? Where the fuck do you live? Common sense is you don’t shit in random people’s yards. I’m not endorsing violent response to that sort of thing, but if you were to try that in, say, San Antonio, TX, you’d get shot.

I’m glad everything always goes right for you and you never encounter circumstances out of your control :)

I am genuinely mystified at how you can call me a “privileged twat” for being a conscientious traveler and tourist, and expecting the same from others as a baseline - because again, when you are a tourist, you are a guest.
We are not talking about refugees here. We are talking about people who have enough cash to drop on a vacation to a foreign country, and then they go and shit in someone’s yard. That’s simply unacceptable - and, yes, uncivilized. This is not a controversial point to anyone, except you.
