over_clox@lemmy.world 7 months agoRandom tip, if you have a block of cheese but no slicer, you can wrap it once with dental floss where you wanna cut and pull the ends together to cut through the cheese. It can be just a tad awkward though, just basically try to make sure the floss ends stay lined up on the plane of the cut. I dunno, just a quick hack anyways.

Yes, broke the handle on one the other week trying to cut through one. Cheese has a very high friction when trying to cut with a knife. That’s why they make cheese cutters.
Dental floss works better than breaking kitchen knife handles…
