logi@lemmy.world 15 hours agoThat isn’t Mercator, then the longitude lines would be parallel and not converge at the pole like that. Greenland really is massive, even without the Mercator distortion.

I’m betting that part of trump’s fascination with Greenland is because of the mercator projection.

While possibly true, the fascination is Putin’s, he’s just following orders. Putin has wanted Venezuela and greenland for a long time.
