It might go to collections and snowball to become a problem years later. Personally Iâd just pay it

Some debt place has been texting me for months to pay for 2 COVID tests I needed to pay for back in April. They just sent me their final notice so Iâm thinking I still donât pay and see what happens. They havenât done anything but text, and there has been no threat of further escalation.
Part of it is because the tests were done in the name of my 3 year old son. Could it impact him 15 years later if he defaulted on a debt when he was a child?

Thanks for the links. Iâll look into it a bit more. The hope is it isnât worth pursuing because itâs less than $200 but I want to make sure

I donât think thatâs how debt works here, like a debt incurred under a childâs name cannot be claimed when they become an adult.
If the debt is in the name of a child, then they cannot collect Iâm pretty sure. Like they canât speak to them to verify identity or anything, and a child has no ability to pay.
