Obviously not practical for today, but consider non-blockout blinds or old-school sheer curtains? Their whiteness helps reflect some light/heat, but still let some sunlight in.
Weâve got 2 west-facing windows in our bedroom. We have one fully blocked out, and the other using just curtains and partially lowered to allow light in, without overwhelming the AC.

Windows are west facing so not keen on that but did just go stand outside for a bit. I might set a timer for breaks
