Comment on What's it going to take to truly stop the US?
Saprophyte@lemmy.world 4 days agoIsrael, Russia, and China do that in every one of our elections. The problem is that they’re always trying to get the most disruptive candidate installed to weaken the US. Legitimate countries always take the stance of “we don’t want to get involved with yada yada”
A handful of countries are willing to put Trumps in charge and no one else is willing to stop them or put someone more friendly to the rest of the world in charge. Our elections are influenced on social media by Russia, economically influenced by China, and candidates are paid for by AIPAC and a south African billionaire. Our elections are as much the will of the people as the direction of the wind is, and we have just as much influence over each.

Im just saying, OP seems to be pleading with the rest of the world to do something about the democratic decay of the US but is seemingly unaware that other countries revel in it.

We’ve gone from only representing rich white christians to only representing the rich lol, it’s not “essentialism” to recognize the verifiable fact that political decisions in this country are not made in accordance with the desires or best interests of voters, the US is a fucking oligarchy and has been since before either of us was born, read a fucking book

Oh yeah, I was agreeing with you. Sorry if it didn’t come across that way. Just sick of the way things are and how out of control we are to affect things. Our elections belong to other governments now and psyop manipulation of the citizens who are still allowed to vote.
