Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 weeks agoMy original comment points out the social credit system is something that doesn’t really exist but was used to scare western capitalists. I’m merely saying that non-existent Boogeyman is actually being used through a financial lens in the US instead.

It was definitely pitched in western media as something we should all fear. I just found it funny that everything that they tried to scare us with (“it might be used to determine whether you get a job or can rent an apartment!”) applied equally to our credit scores.
