Also let me know how you go with the breadmaker. Iâve been a little tempted but Iâm sticking with my stretching-and-folding sourdough thing for now.

I have had a few breadmakers before. They are really good at kneading dough (and providing a warm place for it to rise) but are not as good at the actual baking. I intend to just use it for the kneading and then bake the loaf in the oven. Which is how my mother has been using hers for years too, with very good results.

Ah thankyou, thatâs actually really clever of your mum. Kneading can be heavy going sometimes!
