iheartneopets@lemm.ee 1 year agoI’m wondering if it might suffer because it’s also a horror title, and those tend to be more niche over all? It is very cool that we’ve got two of them in the running, though! Definitely shows how the public’s attitude toward horror is changing, imo

This is very true, the original Alan Wake is already a niche game due to it being in the horror genre (while RE is more action oriented), while Max Payne from the same devs is beloved. I bet a lot of gamers forgot about it before the AW2 announcement trailer.
Maybe this’ll get Konami off their asses regarding Silent Hill, but who are we kidding.

I would definitely agree about Alan Wake being kind of a niche/cult game, even among people who play indies. We can only hope for a (good) new Silent Hill, but Konami hasn’t been inspiring much confidence with that in the last several years - _-
Haha, that’s okay, I was wondering why I couldn’t see it when I clicked on it! I feel like a lot of us are relearning how to treat each other on the internet here on lemmy. I know I am. Idk why, but years on reddit had me trained to say just mean things to people. It was very easy to forget that there was a person on the other side of a comment/post. Idk if that’s how it is for others, but that’s definitely how it has been going for me.
