FerretyFever0@fedia.io 4 weeks agoI mean, not yet. But it COULD be. It could've been that, so many fucking times. The United States could do some insanely useful shit for the world. Has the money and the population to do so much. Instead, we put it all towards bombing civilians in Gaza and subsidizing billionaires. The frustrating part is that once in a while, things have looked like they'll get better. After the end of WW2, it could've done so much. But it didn't. And it hasn't. And the way that things are looking, it won't anytime soon.

I am well aware of the Marshall Plan, but I wasn't referring to that. I meant that they could've actually worked on gender and racial equality in the country itself. Instead, they had a Red Scare and kept all of the inequality. Nixon and Reagan didn't just appear from nowhere. Not to mention the Vietnam or Korean Wars.
