  Melbcat was on high alert. But instead of hiding like usual she stayed under the blanket with me, being held and soothed.

  it did, at first I thought it might be a distant train or boat rumbling tooting but then I looked up from shell collecting and saw the storm on the horizon. I hurried home, 1 km away at that time, as it’s not good to be on a beach in a thunderstorm.
