Its still his repo and code. He can make whatever change he feels like. Big Brother didn't like that, so they just stole his shit

git is decentralized though. Everyone can have a copy. I guess he doesn't technically have the right to edit Microsoft's copy. Definitely a reason to self host though. Fuck gates

Yes. I meant that even if he poisoned the copy on github, it was his repo, he had the right.
He did it to protest how big companies exploit open source packages to make big profits, but never give back to the maintenance or development of these packages.
Github really shot themselves in the foot. Github's existence depends on the open source work hosted there. Enterprise Github is a tiny fraction of there existence.
Good job telling open source devs to look elsewhere. So far, they had stayed even after Microsoft takeover, because there was no overt hostility from Github towards them. I think this really opened everyones eyes
