It’s the “share button”. Apparently somewhere in there lets you post to a linked twitter account.

No there’s a share button, it takes screenshots/videos and you can share them to certain platforms.

It replaced the select button, which to be frank was also quite useless.

Technically it didn’t replace the select button. The touch pad replaced the select button.
