Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 11 hours agoDoing “stupid space stuff” in no way prevents us from improving things. The NASA budget is not even a rounding error in the grand scheme of things. And getting rid of the nazi nerds is an entirely different conversation.

In a way he’s right, the space race was really a dick-measuring contest against the ruskies to demonstrate launch capabilities.
But yeah, we’ve gotten a lot more from NASA than just winning a dick-measuring contest.
