Melvin_Ferd@lemmy.world 2 days agoYou know what. This is why they have such a strangle hold on public opinion. This is what most people are out there saying he’s such a great person and good Christian.

How’s it going on Facebook? Are all your friends and family on their having totally rational discussions on current events?
Not sure why you’re asking me lol
You removed yourself from Facebook and don’t see the issue?

Don’t get salty. A lot of folks don’t use that anymore, it’s a boomer platform for hate politics.

I am salty though. I’m so tired of all you people acting like you’ll punch a Nazi without doing any work because it gives you all the ick.
The left are lazy. The older I get the more this becomes apparent. That just makes me angry. They have turned into essentially worms hiding in dirt. Then they ask why is everyone so crazy and why don’t people see things the way they see things. You’re not going to punch any Nazis. You’re not fighters. The left are spineless Boogie worms who don’t want to get dirty.

I’m not going to punch anyone because I’m not a violent psychopath. I’m also not going to post whatever stupid video you’re talking about anywhere because I don’t flag my politics on the internet. I think people who do it need to stop.
Now that I’ve answered your question, answer mine: why did you get on the internet in the first place? Was it to read about culture war politics and get angrier and angrier as the days and weeks and years go by? Because that’s what you’re doing. Did you buy a smartphone and click all the happy little buttons and now you want to spread your opinions about dumb ass politics everywhere? When do you people all get bored and leave? Why don’t you all just go away? When are you going to realize nobody cares?

No, I didn’t get on the Internet for those things. They came to the Internet because it’s the easiest way for ideas to spread.
You can say you’re above it all, but you can’t really avoid it. Maybe twenty years ago, when things were quieter, that might have worked. But not today. I honestly can’t understand how anyone thinks they can escape politics online by just running to different corners of the Internet.
People aren’t going to get bored and just leave. That’s not how it works anymore. The only thing that slows the spread of ideas is resistance and right now, because so many people checked out, that resistance is weak. And in that vacuum, things have grown worse: women lost abortion rights, the right is close to branding the left as terrorists, budgets for prisons, police, and the military keep going up, and those forces are being used against cities that oppose them. They’ve taken over nearly all social media, shaping what your friends and family see every day.
Thinking they’ll get tired of all that power and influence and just walk away isn’t realistic. And acting indifferent only makes it easier for them to keep winning ground.
