Oh my god. This is like the ah-ha moment for me for what potential the fediverse has in the future.
Although I feel like we’re so early in the concept, that 20 years from now “fediverse” as a concept will be common, but “fediverse” as a term will be as obsolete as “webrings” are today.
But basically this takes away power from the wealthy. They can’t just buy their message being heard. They can create an instance, but if everyone defederates, then no one hears the message.

And since a lot of activities, as well as the mod logs, are public, it’s difficult to engage in similar Tom-fuckery seen elsewhere!
