Gabe is not a monster. He’s using his money to support research and Valve is one of the few companies not enshittified. It has great pro-customer features like family share and a generous return policy.

I don’t think we should have billionaires, but not all of them are parasites on society.

The propaganda is strong. He’s not your friend, he only wants your money, his company is not altruistic. They’re capitalists and they contribute to the abuse of game developers

  Of course, the company is not altruistic, but it’s privately owned and thus not pushed around by the whims of shareholders and short term profits.

  Everything you wrote is true, but it is also true that the people who work at Valve, not Gabe who is almost completely detached now, really care about what they do.
  Which does not mean that they care about customers, necessarily. If they do, that is only a consequence.
