Comment on Hollow Knight: Silksong Sparks Debate About Difficulty and Boss Runbacks
ModernRisk@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day agoThat’s alright too but every time there’s a hard game, it’s always the same old complaining. It’s tiresome.
Hollow Knight, the first game was hard too with some bosses.

I think it’s fine to litigate that again if the same criticisms go unaddressed in a sequel. It took how many souls games before From ended up putting checkpoints right before bosses? When they finally did it, they had their most successful game to date.

Every single game that’s hard, gets the same “it’s so hard” complaint. Well of course it is, isn’t that one of the appeals of the game? Reminds me Sekiro when it got out.
Anyway, we both got our own opinions and that’s that. Lets agree to disagree, I suppose.

Unpopular opinion but “hard games”. Should never exist. All games should be playable for everyone from start to finish. Would you skill check a movie and not let persons who did not pass the arbitrary number levels from watching the movie? Of course not! Everyone regardless of age, race or creed can watch whatever movies they want. Why not do the same for videogames? Like back in the day they heyday of cod and gears of war and halo were completable by anyone. Any maso idiot can play the game again on harder difficulties or do competitive mode. That is before the dreaded “dork souls” came out and hurrdurr me very hard me so good. Just FUCK OFF
