OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 2 days agoOddly, a friend grew ghost peppers and made a very simple hot sauce: blended peppers and vinegar with a touch of sugar and salt. I didn’t know that was the exact recipe so I just dipped a whole chicken wing in and went to town. It was weird, like it was so spicy that it almost wasn’t spicy because my whole head went numb.
The next day I was fearing the worst but… no issue! I actually ended up using that hot sauce all fall and winter as a chicken wing sauce. Never had a problem.
Tried a donair pizza with pickled jalapenos on it and it felt like a platoon of ants armed with flamethrowers decided to attack my asshole.
So I’m basically done mixing hot peppers and cheese

There’s a local company called “Fireland Foods” They have all kinds of sauces with basically no fancy ingredients beside xanthan gum for the thickness. Here’s a screenshot of their Habanero Sauce:
