They’re part of the Old Testament, which pulls from Jewish scripture, but it’s all Abrahamic to me. They should post the Beatitudes if they really want to keep things Christian-specific, but they won’t. Why? Just read them (and the corresponding Woes in Luke) and you’ll see. Mmm problem with the beatitudes is they’re kinda pretty open to interpretation. What do you consider merciful or righteous?
Sure its narrowed down pretty well if you follow all of his teachings… but that’s asking a lot of modern American Christians.
