I agree. A term in the classroom all up isnât long enough. Iâm a fan of the apprenticeship-based model thatâs come out recently, but I think it should be extended to primary.

I taught anatomy for a year with only my Health Science degree, no education training.

Yep. It should be an apprenticeship, or hybrid. Maybe 2 years theory, 2 years apprenticeship, or 3/1. Iâm hoping to get a job as a TA next year to get some classroom experience before I graduate (sometime in 2027 I hope)

Thatâs a good idea! If youâre interested in Vic public, they advertise jobs all the time on the school jobs vic portal. Potentially even cold calling / emailing schools including ones youâve done placement at could be a good idea :)
