This would only work if their phone was still charged and on
Scheduling a message (at least, on Android) holds the message on the phone, until the date, then it sends it to the cell network

My favorite part is when the person doing this dies unexpectedly so all the loved ones keep getting well wishes from beyond the grave

What about when the recipient dies, so their loved ones get well wishes as if the person was still alive?
