I spent half a decade trying IEMs. Honestly its a journey. You need to find sognatures you like. I found that i like mostly flat response. My go tos are etymotic research. I’ve been usingthe ER3s for the past 5 years.

I would appreciate a flat response, but my top priority is durability. The earbuds that came with my phone 7 years ago lasted for 5 years.
I’ve gone through 2 more sets of earbuds and 1 set of IEMs (the Chu 2) in the last 2 years. Not sure if I’m particularly tough on them / use them more frequently than other people (probably), or if everything is just built like shit these days.

ER3’s have been solid for 5 years so I’d say the durability is pretty good. I did have to replace the cable twice (you can detach the earbugs from the cables) but not because they aren’t durable. It was because my cat, Sencha, chewed through them twice.

Ah yes, I know your cat Sencha from your posts lol. I’ll check out the ER3s. Thanks!

The price is a bit steep. If you dont want to go all in you can get the cheaper models as well. They are all pretty good. It’s what I did. I got cheaper models and used them for 2 years before i decided to get the ER3s.
